Open DevOps starts October 26!
If you're looking to learn something new this week don't miss out on Team Talks about Open Devops on 26th October. There will be 5 short 30 min series released every week full of interesting insights about the DevOps world, how to use integrated tools to ship better software faster.
Atlassian has been named one of the World’s Best Workplaces!
Atlassian has made it one of the World's Best Workplaces. The company is listed on greatplacetowork.com, among other brilliant names, with 95% of employees saying is a great place to work.
Also, the National Best Workplaces™ Awards were given to Atlassian for Australia, India, Netherlands, Philippines, and United States.
This comes as no surprise as Atlassian has put a lot of effort and care into employee satisfaction, implemented initiatives like distributed-first teams, and experimented with four days working weeks. Atlassian is also listed in Fortune's top 100 Best Companies to Work For.
Yay, well-done Atlassians!
License marketplace apps for free in your sandbox
Great news for all Cloud premium, Cloud enterprise customers, and solution partners. You can now install apps on your sandbox environments with a free license if you purchased the licenses for your main instance. This means you can test the apps and setups on your sandbox without needing to worry about time and paying for the app license twice.
New admin announcement banner in Jira
Your Admins can now create announcement banners that will show up site-wide in Jira. There are settings you can use with the banner, for example, if the users can dismiss it and if it is public or just seen by logged-in users.
The feature is rolling out gradually but should be with every instance by this November.
Taco Tuesday: Your favourite Trello blog takeaway
A new Atlassian community initiative called Taco Tuesday where you get a chance to win a limited-edition Taco push toy is here! There will be weekly topics published every Tuesday in the Trello group, you can easily participate by replying to the post and the winner will be randomly selected every week.
Follow "taco-tuesday" tag on the Atlassian community to participate!
JumpCloud hooks investment from Atlassian Ventures
Last week Atlassian Ventures made another interesting investment decision and participated alongside CrowdStrike Falcon Fund in a 66 Million investment round for JumpCloud. With the ever-increasing transition to bring your own device type of workplaces, companies like JumpCloud offering cloud-based Active Directory, Single Sign-On, Device Management are becoming more popular than ever.
📚Article of the week: Unlocking The Value Of Open Collaboration To Drive Enterprise Agility - Study
Atlassian published a study called "Unlocking The Value Of Open Collaboration To Drive Enterprise Agility". Atlassian surveyed 750 IT and engineering leaders from enterprise companies across industries to get a picture of the current state of collaboration, culture, and processes. If you're in the industry, going through the report might bring some interesting insights, or you can read this article that picks up the key data from the report.
To pick up some interesting insight, 83% of leaders say their organization struggles with cross-functional collaboration. And only 54% of respondents said they have access to the right teams and people when they need them.
These numbers are a reality check for the companies that are in the need of change. There is a useful link in the article for a resource hub for CIOs where you can find best practices, more research, and resources.
